Ronaldinho: The Happiest Man in the World

I've designed the titles and graphics for longtime friends and collaborators The Douglas Brothers new film on Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho is famous for his number 10 jersey. I found a 10, with a bit of manipulation, sitting in his name, and chose a font that’s reminiscent of those used on the back of football jerseys. I wanted it to be subtle and sensitive to the documentary and knew it couldn’t be flash or loud.

The collaboration took place across the world and in and out of lockdowns over the past three years.

‘Ronaldinho: The Happiest Man in the World’ went live as the launch feature on FIFA+ the new free official streaming platform for football fans last week.

The work also includes the album cover for the film’s original soundtrack, composed by the critically acclaimed British singer-songwriter Jake Bugg, and two movie posters.
